Epic Hero
Beowulf achieved many quest of formidable value to himself and society. In the Epic From Beowulf translated by Burton Raffel, Beowulf did something that many pile arent capable of doing. Beowulf proves to be a man of fearlessness, leading, and owing(p) top executive and he can fit the image of an Epic fighter in many ways.
Beowulf was considered courageous during his lifetime because of everything he accomplished. Beowulf shows courage in line 158 … Death was errand. He states that he pass on fight to his death. He will non back up from his fight with Grendel even if it might cost him his life. Beowulf also shows courage in line 154 … I drove five great giants into chains. By Beowulfs statement he shows how he is not afraid of fighting anyone. Beowulf shows courage which makes him fit the image of an epical hero.
Beowulf is also considered to be a leader. We can see in line 84 that Beowulf is a leader because he states, exclusively of Beowulfs band. This puts him on top of everybody else. It shows that Beowulf is the leader of the group and he has a say on everything that is going on. Beowulf also shows courage when he states him and his men will take care of Grendel.
This shows leadership because he is being helpful by assisting King Hrothgar to thrashing Grendle . Beowulfs is taking responsibility and leadership with his men would ultimately defeat Grendel.
