I think all of them contributed to this Great War.
First of all, I would like to introduce the first reason---Manifest Destiny. Under this belief, American people began to believe them are the Son of God. As a consequence of it, they are responsible to spread their Christian and compassion to save the unfortunate land. Though it sounds good, it inspire many aspirant people began to start the war to overflow and conquer to a greater extent land.
According to the history, after this belief established, American people began to invade Mexico and conquer the land. Now it is the West shore of United States. It seems that engender nothing to contribute to the Civil War. However, under the Manifest Destiny, American people started the war between Mexico. And the result from the War contributed to the Civil War. After the war between Mexico, the Slave Power change magnitude a lot in the North and even sire threaten to American people. However, the southern thought even more dramatic to the impact of the war. With North people transformed the disputation over the expansion of slavery, South people began to protect their in good order of own slaves. The divergence has been settled.
