Victor Frankenstein became obsessed with the thinking of creating life after his mothers death, which devastated him. He worked for a long snip until his creation was complete, plainly the first signs of life in the monsters form terrified him and he then decides to destroy it. The creature, however, escapes from Frankensteins laboratory and swore retaliation and eternal war to his creator and all mankind. Many state first think of the novel, they immediately think of the creature as the monster, but it should not be considered the monster, granted it is a lusus naturae and frightens people, even kills them.
But in my opinion, the creator is not the monster in this novel; it is in fact his creator, Victor Frankenstein that truly is the monster.
Victor Frankenstein had such an obsession restore a stiff and when he succeeds he abandons it leaving it to fend for itself. I think he too is calveially responsible for all the deaths that were caused by the monster himself because he did not help or enlighten him how to live in society.
