Human Kind and the Presence of Evil in master of the Flies

In William Goldings novel manufacturer of the Flies, the constant bearing of humankind and evil is repeatedly shown proving that if the populace lacked a higher authority humankind would fall into the detainment of evil. Throughout the book this is shown and proved with the use of symbolism, the actions of the boys on the island, and ultimately with the birth at the end of the book.
The first chapter in Lord of the Flies is very significant to the rest of the book. While Ralph and porcine were near the lagoon, Ralph spotted a creamy looking ticktock. boorish had granted Ralph back round knowledge about the shell telling him that you can blow it, A conch he called it. He used to blow it and then his mum would come… (Golding 10). This had given piggy the idea that they could call the other boys on the island by blowing the conch. After when the rest of the boys on the island ga in that respectd where the sound of the conch was, there was a meeting that was held and Ralph was elected chief.



Ralph had been elected chief for the childlike but important reason that he had possession of the conch, and a few other reasons that no one could really understand, barely there was a stillness about Ralph as he sat that marked him out: there was his size, and attractive appearance; and most obscurely, yet more powerfully there was the conch. (19). upright from the start the conch has the power to keep the boys in line by keeping them where ever the conch was. Throughout the book Ralph had kept the boys in some sort of order with the help of the conch. Meetings were called with the sound of the shell, and the barely person holding the conch was able to speak. At these meetings plans and ideas about the island, rescue and survival were discussed and brought to life.
