The first change benefit of Wal-Mart being opened in or around a underage town is the traffic that will result from travelers.



The traffic will lead to an increase in profits for some of the retailers in the area. This is especially true if the small town is located anywhere near a major highway or interstate.
The second benefit to having a Wal-Mart open in a small town is the tax benefits and supererogatory profits to the planning commission and other areas of government that bear inspections and permits. This would be a pro for Wal-Mart.
