It was September 11, 2001 and liveliness was going as usual, nothing pop of the ordinary. I got to civilize that morning and everyone was self-contained around the tables in the cafeteria laughing and talking. It wasnt until 2nd accomplishment when they held all the students in class to make and important declaration over the intercom. I was only in 6th punctuate so I couldnt really wrap my toss around everything that was happening. Almost everyone was crying and all the teachers were hysterical. We turned on the news to watch some building on fire. I had no clue why it was on fire; it didnt occur to me that there was a huge plane glutinous out of the other end. After I found out near the terrorist attack and everything that happened that entire solar day, I realized that my life and the lives of my family members were about to make a drastic change.
The next day my parents got up early in the morning to drive me to school. I could only assume they were scared to let me walk to school on my own. I had no idea what the big cumulus was and how any of this had anything to do with me feelting to school and back. That day I found out exactly why! Everyone stared at me worry I was from another planet or something.
As if I was the terrorist who drove the plane into the World Trade Center, and they werent appalled to say it either. All my friends became my enemies. Names like terrorist, hijacker, and Osama Bin sozzled were getting thrown at almost every shopping centre Eastern student as they went down the halls.
I was blow out of the water when I saw my best friend; Farhista. She used to dish out her hair with a scarf; also known as a hijab in the Muslim culture. Since that day she stopped wear it because she was constantly being taunted and ridiculed because she was from Afghanistan. The most upsetting part was the hoi polloi who were picking at her were friends who we used to sit with during lunch.
