Green Issues in Universities

INTRO This is a proposal writing to the 8 Universities in Hong Kong suggesting how to deliver the goods Eco-school. Green is not a new subject. But it has been become a hotter and hotter topic. While the whole world is concerning about spherical warming and Climate change, ice shelves breaking, sea level rising, icy bears becoming extinct etc. The violation of nature pushes us to think and reflect our own selves. Being a knowledgeable university student, how can we actually help easing the burning bunk? We strongly believe that we have to bear the social certificate of indebtedness and being a pioneer to contribute. We have the mission of cattle ranch the massage of Green starting from universities campuses and take action NOW. immortalise one thing: you and I can make a small effort but a big deflexion to our Earth! Arousing environmental awareness + willingness to act Our main purpose is to clear the eco-friendly atmosphere and the self-discipline of acting green. To accomplish this, we suggest that the eight Universities hold a mutual environmental protection (EP) scarper and make it part of general education and compulsory for students to get into; alternatively, it could be credit bearing to motivate them.

We suggest the Universities reservation use of the campus newspaper as a platform to advertise environmental protection. A column which provides green tips or relevant surveys that arouses the students interest and concern on the issue. Also, if necessary, it is worth considering making announcements around the campuses for reminding them to act green. We propose the Universities setting up individual EP societies which emcee regular debates on relevant topics and involve as some pupils and staffs as possible. Universities can send representatives to national or planetary congress or meetings e.g. G8 to make them aware of and be twisting in significant measures and decisions.
