Reactions nearly the Community & Host Family We visited in Vitas, Tondo last June 26, 2010 lead June 26, 2010 was our first exposure on Vitas, Tondo. Weve been informed of the community were going to visit the week after our exposure. The 2 representatives from the implicated Mothers League oriented us close to the place and they assured our safety. On the day of our exposure, we went to Harrison Plaza Parking, the state meeting place. From Harrison Plaza, we drove our charge to Vitas on a jeepney. It was an virtually 30 minutes travel time before we got to Vitas. The jiffy we arrived there, we saw the real picture of poverty. We inhaled the smokes from vehicles, factories, & fumes of garbage. We witnessed the tragic mooring of the people that lived there. We headed straight to the rooftop of building 3. While on our way upstairs, most of us were really scared because the stairs were non sturdy. Nevertheless, we continued our way to the top. On the rooftop, we were oriented to our host families. Everyone dual-lane their expectations about todays activity. After the orientation, every base went to their respective families including us. The host family assigned to us was Joan Diwas family. She lives in building 3, just downstairs from the rooftop.

We were very welcomed to their small provided cozy place. She was really hospitable to us. She introduced herself as Ate Joan, 37 years old as well as her two children, Khim, 12 years old & Ronaldo Jr., 9 years old. At that time, her husband, Ronaldo Sr., 36 years old, was out for work. During our stay, she shared different sorts of stories about their life & community. She told us that her daughter was applying to a Science School. Although Khim passed the bewitch exam, she didnt pursue entering the school because her parents cant afford to pay all the bills of her school. Instead, her mom enrolled her in a public school.
