James parents worked as the maid and butler for Ulysses S. Grant. James was the one of the better(p) known photographers during the Harlem Renaissance, he was known for his many photographs of the black youthful Yorkers. One of the photographs that he is best known for is titled The married couple created in 1925. It was representational art work convey, representational meaning it is what it is. The photo was taken in black and white of an African American couple. The newlyweds appear to be sitting on a c pilus in front of the fireplace but it looks homogeneous to me after examining the photo they appear to be extended in air. There are a mint candy of lights and darks in the picture.
